A Brief History of The Fat Fox
Yes, that's me, Morris.
A cunning English fox, a charcoal grill and a corner of Witte de With. Pull up a chair by the fire and I'll tell you the whole story.
Raised in the fields
Having grown up in the English countryside, I developed a nose for good food. It's genuine quality I'm after. You can't fool my cunningness and instinct. Hunting the pastures, I could sniff out the finest meats: grass fed, free range and traditionally reared. Being an omnivore, I used to forage the most delicate veggies and fruits from the fields every day.

The hunt for flavour
At The Fat Fox, I want to share my love for proper English pub tradition with you. Everything is prepared according to recipes that have been in the family for generations. If anyone knows how to cook a great steak, it surely is me.

Live fire & tradition
We serve charcoal grilled premium steaks from cured cuts, beefy burgers like the Fat Fox with bacon and cheddar and traditional English pies. You can even find my personal favourite fish and chips, served with tartar sauce and lemon, alongside plenty of colourful veggies like crispy Brussels sprouts and roasted broccoli.
The Family
The same hands, four dens
I'm no lone fox. The Fat Fox is one of four Rotterdam restaurants run by the same team — kin who share a pantry, a philosophy and a stubborn love of doing things properly. Here's the litter, in the order we threw open our doors.

The Iron Lady
Steakhouse · Pannekoekstraat
Pannekoekstraat 22A, 3011 LG RotterdamThe one that started it all. The Iron Lady is our grande dame of dry-aged beef — the charcoal-fired steakhouse whose flame I was raised on. Everything I know about a proper cut, I learned at her table.
